Before we get into this very late empties and declutter blog post, I just want to say that this is going up so late because I did film this as a video and I did want to include it in the blog post, but the computer that I edit all my videos on finally just died last week. I don’t know when I’ll be getting around to getting a new laptop so I can edit my videos again, so it looks like I be blogging more until then.
5-HTP 50 miligrams, MRM
I finished these off in the month of July. These are supplements that help with promoting a positive mood, sleep pattern and can control your appetite. I have noticed a difference since taking them with my quality of sleep because it does usually take me an hour or more to wind-down to get to sleep. What is interesting about these supplements is that you don’t have to take them at night before you go to sleep, but you can actually take them in the morning. I bought another bottle, but from a different brand (because I got these from Sprouts…and they were more expensive there then on amazon).
Topcare refreshing facial cleanser
I bought this when I ran out of my regular favorite facial cleanser, the Up & Up brand facial cleanser that is supposed to be a dupe for the St. Ives one. This one, however, is not like either of those two. I finished it because I didn’t want to waste it but I really didn’t like it. It felt very harsh on my skin and didn’t seem to work to clean my face and exfoliate like it is supposed to. Plus it was around like $4 which is more expensive than the Up & Up brand facial cleanser. Never will buy this one again, if I have to I will probably just go to Target to get the facial cleanser that I like.
Finished this in July, and I ended up getting another bottle of this in my June or July Sephora PLAY! subscription. Love it for my thick coarse hair. I used to tame the frizz before brushing it out.
This was like a BB cream, and for a sample size of it, I found that I could cover my face at least 3 times over. Loved the look that this gave my skin, but the color range of the product is not big enough. The shade that I received in one of my Sephora PLAY! boxes were so warm toned that I did have to color correct. When I did look up the product online to see the shade range, I saw that all the shades seemed to tend to be for more medium skin tones, no light or pale shades and no darker shades. Would I purchase the full-size? Only if the shade range was expanded to include everyone because it is a nice product, but with the range that is in place now, not everyone can use the product.
This mask, a little goes a long way. It was a good sample because I was able to use this sample size maybe 10+ times on my t-zone. The product was cool, in that it turned from clear to blue to indicate when to remove the mask. It did seem to extract the blackheads from my t-zone, and I think I would repurchase if I found a good deal online.
I loved this exfoliating mask. It is made of all-natural ingredients. It was a product that I received in an Ipsy bag a couple months back. Now that I know that I can get this from Ulta I will definitely be repurchasing this because it is only $10. I would use it as a quick exfoliator when I was doing my nightly skincare routine to help with my t-zone area.
This deluxe-size sample was awesome! There is a reason why this brand is so hyped online because this hair mask made my coarse hair feel so nice. I would repurchase this because it took me about a month to use up because you don’t need a lot for the mask to work on even the coarsest of hair.
This mascara was great. It gave me the volume and length that I always want in a mascara and the squeeze-tube packaging was very interesting and I would repurchase this mascara again.
Allure Makeup Remover Wipes
I always have these in my monthly empties, because they are only 99 cents from the 99 cents store, they remove waterproof makeup. And I do end up buying them at like 3 packs at a time. Forever will be my favorite way to remove makeup when i don’t have the time to go through the more extensive skincare routine after i remove my makeup.
Lancome Foaming Cleansing Makeup Remover.
This was a nice deluxe-size sample from Sephora PLAY! box. Too fragrant for my liking though but it did clean my face. Wouldn’t purchase the full-size cause i have cheaper options and the floral scent almost gave me a headache.
Up & Up Blemish Controlling Apricot Scrub
My all-time favorite facial exfoliator. It’s $2 at target and it is just like the St. Ives but you get twice the amount of product.
Wet N Wild Natural Finish Setting Spray
$5 at the drugstore, and something that always ends up in my monthly empties because I use this everytime that I do my makeup. It helps my makeup last all day and I love it.
Nu-pore sheet masks
Got these all at the 99 cent store. All of them were pretty much the same, I didn’t see a different between any of them, even if they did list what the mask was suppose to do for my skin. Other than that though they were a great find if you just want to really moisturize your face and have some “me time”.
Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask + Coconut Extract
Another hair mask that I tried last month. It was a sample that I got a couple months back from Pinchme that I honestly forgot about until I found it. I put it on my hair for one minute, in lieu of conditioner and it really did help my hair. I would love to purchase the full size of this one or any of the other ones that are in the hair mask line.
Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo
This stuff works great if you have dandruff. I’ve been using this every month for a year since I got recommended this by my dermatologist. Love this stuff, really helps my scalp from not itching. The only thing is, is that it is a very strong smelling shampoo, and if you get it in your eye, prepare to scream cause it hurts SO BAD! Other than that though, I’ll be repurchasing this over and over again because this is the only shampoo that seems to help with my dandruff.
Biossance Squalene + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer
This product was in my last Sephora PLAY! subscription review. I used it up in the same month because I used just a little bit every morning that I woke up and then I would apply some every evening when I went to bed. I did see some improvement in my skin’s texture due to the moisturizer and I would repurchase it.
Matrix Total Results 20+ Miracle Creator Hair Mask
Another hair mask because I guess last month my hair really needed the help due to the heat out here in California. This one though wasn’t memorable at all to me. It was something that my mom got in a birchbox and didn’t want to use, so she passed it onto me.
Nelson Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Mask
ANOTHER HAIR MASK. I do remember liking this one, and it did last me throughout the whole month. I got this in an ipsy subscription. Really liked it, and if it was available in a store where I could buy it in I would repurchase. Most of the times with Ipsy subscription items they are just harder to find.
Batiste Dry Shampoo, Cherry scented.
Another staple that I keep on repurchasing over and over again. Took me longer to get through with this like all dry shampoos because there isn’t that many times that I end up having to use one. I really liked this, and I’m thinking about trying out the tropical scent of this dry shampoo next.
Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer
Only one of the samples seemed to be even close to my shade. The others were too dark for me. The foundation sample and just the foundation in general just weren’t for me. Seemed to sit on top of my skin. Wouldn’t even try the full-size of this product.
Equitance Brightening Serum + Spot Corrector
Something that had been sitting in my collection for so long that I don’t even want to put it on my face. And I really have no use for a dark spot corrector.
NYX Cosmetics Faux Blacks Eyeliner
I got this through Ipsy. I really dislike pencil eyeliner because I don’t have the patience to sharpen them. And pencil eyeliners don’t stay on my eyes for too long without smudging.
Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Cream
This was nice when I first got it. It matched my brows perfectly. But the packaging of having the brush on the one side and the cream in the little pen side just was never something I liked. This just really dried out very quickly.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
Had this one for about a month or so and then it started tearing. I’ve noticed that ever since the logo was actually put onto the sponge that it just isn’t the same quality anymore. I will keep purchasing these in the 2 packs because they are most cost-effective, but there was a downgrade in the quality of these.
NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Lipstick in Kitten Heels
This went bad. And I never really like the fact that it never really dried down, especially since it’s a red color. Got this through Ipsy. Might try the other colors in the future but having a red lipstick that doesn’t dry down and ends up moving on me isn’t something I like.
Ardelle Eyebrow razor
I get these at target all the time to do the tops and tails of my eyebrows. I buy them in packs of three. I just threw this one away because the razor was getting dull and I could no longer use it because whenever I would actually try and take the plastic protector off the razor would come off into the plastic protector. I always buy these when I run out.
